Events Leading Up To The Korean War
- Before the war, Korea was part of Japan under The Japan-Korean Annexation. Koreans were forced to leave their cultures while being forced into the Japanese culture. When Japan entered the World War II, many civilians from Korea were forced to work for the Japanese.
- On July 17, 1945 The Postdam conference takes place. They discussed Koreas future, however they did not include Korea. This resulted into Kore dividing into two at the 38th parallel.
- August 10, 1945 Soviet Russian troops arrived in North Korea for support.
- September 2, 1945 Japan surrendered which ended World War II.
- September 8, 1945 Japan surrendered Korea to the United States.
