Korean War Events
- September 1945 Korea divides between the North and South- after Japan surrendered soviets stayed in the north while American troops remedied in the south. There was a temporary border setup at the 38th parallel.
- In 1949 soviets and Americans withdraw military- a pro-soviet government was left in charge of North Korea with a good army.
- In June 25 1950 North Korea invades South Korea- Tanks from North Korea cross the 38th parallel. This is the start of the Korean War.
- By June 27th military help is given to Korea. This led to the death of 100,000 communists.
- The Soith Korean Capital of Seoul is captured by Nortg Korean troops. Douglas MacArthur arrives in Suwon, South Korea to take command of US forces.
- July 4th 1950 is the day that the battle of Osan took place this battle led to over 150 deaths or injuries.
- By July 21st North Korea troops move the south 100 miles from the city Seoul.
- In September 27 the US president Truman tells Douglas to go push the North Koreans passed the 38th parallel.
- People from the south believed that the Chinese wouldn't get involved. However more than 100,000 Chinese soldiers secretly arrive in North Korea through the Yalu (야루) river. They defeat the South Korean army.
- January 4th 1951, Korea and Chinas People volunteer army of North Korea retake Seoul (서울)
- In September 13 South Korean, French, American, and Philippine troops fight in the battle of Heartbreak Ridge against Chinese and North Korean troops. There was a total of about 28,000 deaths.
- 1952 March 21st the battle of Hill Eerie proved the participation of Filipinos on the same side as the South.
- The battle of White Horse was A battle gained as an advantage for the Chinese.
- In March. 28 1953 During the Pork chop Hill the Chinese launched an attack toward the United Nations.. the fighting would Continue even at night.
- On July 27 the Korean Armistice Agreement officially ends the Korean War.
